Gravity sand casting by gravity system continues to be, within the different foundry systems, the most traditional of them all. Although the industry has also been mechanized throughout time and evolution, skilled labour remains as something central to it.

This type of casting is so called because the molten metal is poured into a sand mould that had been prepared from a previous model. The liquid metal falls into the sand mould due to its own weight inside the sand, where it’ll be left to cool until it solifies completely before finally extracting it and proceed to apply its perfect finishing.
